As the capital of Gansu Province in northwest China, Lanzhou was a important section of the ancient Silk Road. Lanzhou is the first main stop of all Tibet trains, and a first stop of the so called Qinghai-Tibet railway. But many trains are passing by trains and stopover in Lanzhou only, there is only one train Z917 starts directly from Lanzhou to Lhasa, with one night on the train, you will reach Lhasa the next day. 

Train Z917 starts every OTHER day from Lanzhou at 11:16AM and arrives in Lhasa next day at 12:00 noon time. And Train Z918 runs back from Lhasa at 08:50AM and arrive in Lanzhou next day at 09:23AM

Important Note:

2) The ticket prices above are the net rate for reference only, the actual booking price is higher as we have to pay high booking fee to special ticket agent. 

3) As many trains are passing by train, so the tickets are extremly hard to guarantee, the train tickets are limited but the demand from both Chinese and foreign visitors is huge and exceed the supply, especially  during the peak season of May to Oct.  So we do not offer ticket booking for Lanzhou-Lhasa train.  If there is any agent boast that they can book the train, it is actually risky, no agent can 100% guarantee it,  all agents are just pay high booking fee to certain special ticket agents, the successful rate is from 50-90% or so depends on the actual situation, but could not 100% guarantee, so please kindly note this.
